Blog update - This blog is currently on hiatus.

Due to lack of motivation and inspiration, I just don't have any will of writing anything on this blog. I will eventually start again, but for the time being I need to focus on other matters!

FOTD: Lucky Green

Today (or more exactly, yesterday), I feeled for some green eyemakeup!
Luckygreen from MAC seems a bit scary in the pan but when applied, it's actually very wearable. I thought it would be more of a bright green color, but I was wrong. It's more of yellow toned lightgreen. I used black eyeliner and dark grey-ish brown to tone it down though because my top was bright colored that day and I didnt want them to compete. I usually pick up one of the accents of my outfit and use a similare color for the eye makeup (not matchy-matchy though, Ugh!) but this time I did not. It's look nice and put together when color coordinate with the makeup, but its not always needed as long as the color does not compete with eachother, like bright red lips with bright orange top...
...that would look a bit off...!
Next time I wear more less eyecatching clothes ....or at least on the upperbody, Im gonna try to pull off the bright blue eyeshadow again. I've several bright eyeshadows but I never seems to use them because they are so loud in color...

The placements of the eyeshadows (all from MAC):

Lucky green (lightgreen) on the eyelid up to crease,
Mystery (matte dark taupe) on the outer edge of the eyes blended into the crease and then used Sumptous Olive (medium-dark olive green) to difuse the green and taupe together. Phloof! (shimmery highlighter with pink undertone) to highlight browbone and inner corner of the eyes.
Black creamy eyeliner was used as "tightlining" the waterliner and smudged on the upper and outer lower lashline for more intensity before applying the eyeshadows (notice it looks darker on upper lashline? Thats the eyepencil, its underneath the lightgreen one). I use this technique instead of using a crisp eyeliner on upper lashline, it's looks more "day appropriate" when using darker eyeshadows for daytime!
Also used a darkgreen eyepencil (same as last post, but this time I manage to applied it properly) on lower lashline. xD I'm faaar from proffessional with makeup application...

FOTD: Comfort Zone

I wore this makeup last tuesday - just a simple, peachy-grey soft smokey eye and nude lips with a little green eyeliner twist on lower lashline (which got ruined by the mascara, I forgot to apply the eye liner BEFORE the mascara...)!
I also tryied out a very tricky clothing item - the leopard print!
This print is so hard to pull off, wear it wrong and you may end up looking like a old  50 years old cougar woman looking for some "cubs", ha ha! (I hope I don't look like one...).

Ah, jeez, these fashion stereotypes can be so weird sometimes, but at the same time funny...! xD
This reminds me of why I don't wear bright makeup so often anymore. A couple of years ago, I was mistaken for a street walker at the bank, because I wore bright blue eyeshadows (and no, not paired with pink or red lips, I wore nude lips!).
Sooo, ever since then, I had no guts to wear bright eyeshadow or try out trends because of those dreadful sterotypes... Its no fun to be mistaken being a hooker or a little school girl looking for a sugar dad at the library (yep, that happened to, but I dont remember why...definitly not because of my makeup or outfit. 99% of the time I wear classy kind of outfits, not the "cheap" desperate very revealing kinds...).
But Im thinking of breaking through those habits and stop thinking what other people think about me that are not even true, especially the ones where people prejudge others based on how they dress or look.
I dont think makeup or clothes should define what kind of person you are, its how you behave and present yourself in front of others...at least thats my honnest opinion about it...
Ah, enough about babbling about that, this is not a fashion blog, anyway (but may adding outfits, fashion and styles to my blog in the future, but I dont know...).

Tips about Matte Lipsticks

Matte lips tends to be really drying to be worn alone, don't they?
I've very chappy lips but I find that, if you still want to wear them, apply a somewhat sheer lipgloss, vaseline or liquid lipbalm underneath the lipstick make the lipstick work better.

This is how the Mauve Outta There from Wet n Wild look without any additional lip products. Kinda chappy, eh?
(...and excuse me for my yellow tinted teeth, I've unhealthy addiction to Coca-Coca, Haha! :D)

and here with a sheer lipgloss underneath.
(Yep, it's the same lipstick, but different lighting. The pictures was not taken on the same day.)

Mauve Outta There from Wet n Wild is a really matte, drying lipstick, but with the lipgloss I'm wearing today, it's feel more like a sheer lipsticks. Applying lipgloss over the lipstick will make it more like a gloss. However, either method will make the lipstick less long lasting. Of course, applying a chapstick underneath will also work for some people, but in my experience, I find this method not so good.

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lipstick, E901B Think Pink
A very chalky pale pink lipstick when worn alone. This lipstick I can't pull of without mixing it with lipgloss...

There are no rules when applying makeup, you don't always have to apply them in the traditional order (as with lip products; Lippencil -> Lipstick -> Lipgloss). A lot of products can be multi-tasking. I personally love mixing products together to see if I can get other usages from it. Here are some ways, I use sometimes.

# Mix concealer/foundation with a sheer colored lipgloss or vaseline and you've a "nude" lipcolor".
# Mix loose eyeshadow/pigments (Make sure they can be used on the lips) with lipgloss/vaseline to create special effect colored lipgloss.
# Mix foundation with moisturizer and you've a tinted moisturizer (most people know this one, though). Some people use this method to create their own eyeprimer

MLBB 2 - MakeUpStore Cream Lipstick, Raspberry

Picture borrowed from Makeustore's homepage.

In English:
To those who are reading my blog, you have to excuse me for not being so active with the blogging recently. ^^;; I have got a new camera (or rather I got a camera as gift), but I dont have any memory card for it, so I was thinking waiting with blogging until I have bought the memory card. But I found some "somewhat" old pictures to write about until then.

Raspberrt from Makeupstore is another "MLBB" lipstick I have, except from Fruity Nude from the Lumene Wild Rose Natural serie that I mentiond in another post. It's very close to my natural lip color, but a bit darker and more reddish, like a mediumdark, warm rosy-red color (according to me). Sometimes I imaging the color get darker or lighter in certain days or lights. The pictures below are taken in natural sun light and without flash.

Min naturliga läppfärg (Kass bild, jag vet. Läpparna var snustorrra och det var lite molnigt ute). Tagen utomhus utan blixt.

My natural lip colour (Bad picture, I know. My lips was super dry and it was a bit cloudy outside.) Taken outside without flash.

Raspberry i direkt solljus utan blixt.
Rasberry in Natural Sunlight without flash.

Here is the lipstick taken in flash, indoors (but not at the same day). Kinda big difference with the quality on the pictures, huh? ;) The lip color is NOT this dark in real life! The pictures get distorted (Uh... right word?) when taking photos with flash.
